Actually in apparel industry consumption is the most valuable part of goods fabric summary. Which is most important task for merchandiser for calculating fabric consumption. If final consumption of an order is not accurate then fail earn export profit. However maximum garments are using Marker Method to calculate final cad marker for a garments.

= (Inseam Length + Allowance + Front Rise) x (1/2 Thigh +Allowance) x 4 x Gsm                      /10000000+10% x 12

= (60 + 10) x (26 + 5 ) 4 x 300 /1,00,00,000 +10% x 12

= 70 x 124 x 300 / 1,00,00,000 + 10% x 12

= 3.43 kgs Per Doz (Its tolerance Formula -20% )


Suppose: For Pocketing Consumption
Item : Knitted Trouser

GSM: 160

(Pocket Length + Allowance) x (Pocket Width +Allowance) x 4 x Gsm /10000000+10% x 12

= (13 + 5) x (10.50 + 5) x 4 x 160 /1,00,00,000 + 8% x 12

= 18 x 15.50 x 4 x 160 / 1,00,00,000 + 8% x 12

= .231 kgs Per Doz

Total Fabric Consumption now will be cleared here 
(Body Consumption + Pocketing Consumption) = Total Body Consumption
= 4.28 + .231 = 4.51 kgs Per Doz Full Body Consumption
